Gujarat Police Conducts Raids on Spas Across the State, Busts Prostitution Racket

Ahmedabad, October 19: Gujarat Police conducted simultaneous raids on spas across the state on Wednesday night, busting a prostitution racket. Over 100 people were arrested and many girls were freed during the raids.

The raids were conducted in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, and Vadodara, following complaints of prostitution running in the name of spas.

In Ahmedabad, police investigated over 350 spas and massage parlors, and registered nine cases of violating prohibitory orders. Eight people were also detained.

In Surat, police raided 70 spas simultaneously and detained 50 customers. They also freed several women who were allegedly being forced into prostitution.

In Rajkot, police investigated over 50 spas and found that 13 spa operators had violated prohibitory orders. They also found that therapists from other states were working in the spas without being registered.

In Vadodara, police took action against 20 spas for not verifying the employees properly. They also raided three spas in Himmatnagar and 29 spas in Gandhidham.

The police said that the raids will continue till October 24.

The crackdown on spas in Gujarat comes after the police received several complaints of prostitution running in their name. The police have urged people to come forward and report any suspicious activity.
