Gujarat Signs MoU with IN-SPACE to Set Up Space Manufacturing Cluster in Sanand

Gandhinagar, October 18: The Gujarat government signed an MoU with the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACE) on Wednesday to set up a space manufacturing cluster in Sanand. IN-SPACE, an autonomous agency of the Department of Space, will provide promotion and technical guidance to various manufacturing industry operations related to space technology in the cluster.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that the state government will provide full cooperation in providing land and infrastructure for industries in the space and allied sectors in this important project.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Industries Minister Balwant Singh Rajput, Minister of State for Industries Harsh Sanghvi, Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, IN-SPACE Chairman Dr. Pawan Kumar Goenka, Joint Secretary Lochan Shehra, renowned scientist and Director Technical of In-Space Dr. Rajeev Jyoti, and senior secretaries of Gujarat Government.

The space manufacturing cluster in Sanand is expected to contribute to India's ambitious space goals, which include having a space station by 2035 and a manned mission to the Moon by 2040.

The MoU is a significant development for Gujarat, which is already a major player in the Indian aerospace sector. The state is home to several leading aerospace companies, including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Larsen & Toubro, and Reliance Industries. The space manufacturing cluster in Sanand is expected to further boost Gujarat's aerospace industry and create new jobs and opportunities.
