Rajkot : Girl Killed in Road Accident on City's New 150 Feet Road, Truck Driver Escapes
Public Anger Over Delayed Response by Administration
A tragic accident occurred on the city's new 150 feet road on Monday morning, when a truck driver hit a two-wheeler, killing a 22-year-old girl and seriously injuring another.
According to eyewitnesses, the truck was running at full speed when it hit the two-wheeler, which was carrying two girls, Hetvi Moradiya and another girl. Moradiya, who was a first-semester MBA student, died on the spot, while the other girl was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The truck driver fled the scene after the accident. Police have registered a case and are investigating further.
There is anger among the local residents over the accident, with many alleging that the body of the deceased remained at the spot for three hours before being taken away. They also allege that the administration has not taken any steps to address the problem of potholes and careless driving of big vehicles on the road, despite repeated complaints.
The accident has raised concerns about road safety on the new 150 feet road, which is one of the busiest roads in the city. The authorities have been urged to take necessary measures to prevent such accidents from happening in the future.
