Ashapura Dham Development in Full Swing, Khatla Bhavani Temple and Chachara Kund Renovated
State Government's Rs 32.71 Crore Master Plan to be Completed by April 2024
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Development Board (GPYVB) is undertaking a comprehensive development of Ashapura Dham, a major religious center in Kutch district. Under a Rs 32.71 crore master plan, the board has renovated the Khatla Bhavani Temple and Chachara Kund, and is now working on the main temple and Rooprai Pond.
The Khatla Bhavani Temple is located on a hilltop in the Ashapura Mata Dharmasthala complex. The temple has been renovated, and a new complex has been developed for devotees, including a walkway, children's playground, gazebo, ramp-approach, plantation, parking-toilet, and shod-platform for stalls.
The Chachara Kund is a mythological pond with perennial water. The kund has been renovated with updated lighting, and the surrounding area has been developed with a walkway, children's playground, seating arrangements, kitchen-dining facility, amphitheatre-type seating arrangement, tree plantation, and toilet block.
The GPYVB has also completed about 40 percent of the development work at Rooprai Lake. The PCC work of the road is in progress to save the pilgrims from inconvenience by completing the complete demolition work as per the plan in Shri Ashapura Mataji Temple and the remaining work is planned to be started after Navratri.
The development work at Ashapura Dham is expected to be completed by April 2024. The state government led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is developing the religious places of the entire state as religious tourist destinations. In this series, Ashapura temple and nearby faith centers in 'Mata Ka Madh', the center of faith of the people of Gujarat, are being developed.
