Gandhinagar : The Gujarat Police has made elaborate security arrangements ahead of the India-Pakistan cricket match in the World Cup Cricket at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Over 6,000 security personnel, including teams from the National Security Guard (NSG), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and Rapid Action Force (RAF), will be deployed at the stadium and in the surrounding areas.

State Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay said that the police is taking all necessary steps to prevent any untoward incident during the match. "We have made complete preparations considering all the dimensions. Keeping law and order in mind, the traffic team will keep an eye on anti-social elements in the stadium. Teams of police officers will maintain strict vigil both inside and outside the stadium for the safety of the people," he said.

The DGP has appealed to the people to use the metro train in as many cases as possible to ease the traffic. However, parking arrangements have also been made for private vehicles. People have also been warned about the conspiracy of anti-social elements to sell fake match tickets.

During the match, the Crime Branch and ATS team will keep a close watch on every suspicious activity. The administration has also made concrete preparations on the basis of secret information. Police forces have been deployed keeping all inputs in mind. A meeting has been held with all the senior officials of the districts, giving instructions to keep watch in all the sensitive areas of the state including Ahmedabad.

The DGP has urged the people to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activity immediately.
