Surat Mayor Dakshesh Mavani Shows Empathy for Disabled, Meets Them on Ground Floor

Surat Municipal Corporation Mayor Dakshesh Mavani has shown empathy for disabled people by meeting them on the ground floor of the corporation headquarters. This is a new initiative to make the corporation more accessible for all.

A disabled couple had come to the headquarters to meet the mayor to discuss their request and problem. Since the mayor's office is on the first floor, the couple had to struggle to reach there. Seeing this, Mavani instructed the administration to make arrangements for disabled people on the ground floor so that they can easily access the corporation's services.

The mayor also built a shelter for the disabled below his office. Later, the concerned officer met with the disabled couple to understand their problem.

The headquarters of Surat Municipal Corporation is a heritage property, and the offices of all the officers and officials, including the mayor and commissioner, are on the first floor. There is no easy way for disabled people to reach the first floor, and there is a provision for a lift, but disabled people coming from different areas of the city do not know the way to the lift.

Mayor Mavani's humanitarian approach towards disabled people is a welcome step. His initiative to meet disabled people on the ground floor will make the corporation more accessible and inclusive for all.
