Teacher Arrested for Brutally Beating 4.5-Year-Old Student in Surat
Education Minister Orders Further Investigation
A teacher in Surat, Gujarat, was arrested on Thursday for brutally beating a four and a half year old student in Junior KG. The incident came to light after the girl's mother saw injury marks on her body while changing her clothes at home.
According to the police complaint, the teacher, Jashodaben, became angry when the girl did not form the letters properly or write the text properly in a note. She then hit the girl on the back and cheek.
The girl's mother immediately reached the school and informed the teachers about the matter. The school checked the CCTV cameras and found that the girl was indeed beaten by the teacher.
The school administrators then wrote a resignation letter to the teacher and immediately informed the Education Department.
