Water Supply Cut in Surat's Varachha Zone on October 13

The hydraulic department of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will be carrying out repair and renovation work on the water line in the newly included areas of Varachha zone on October 13. Due to this operation, there will be no water supply in these areas for the entire day. On October 14, water supply will be partial and with low pressure.

The affected areas include Mota Varachha rural area and some other areas of Varachha zone. Residents of these areas have been advised to store water as per requirement and use it sparingly.

The SMC has stated that the repair and renovation work is necessary to ensure adequate quantity and quality of water supply in the future. The work is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 hours.

The following areas will be affected by the water supply cut:

  • Mota Varachha village
  • The entire area from Mota Varachha cemetery to Abrama check post
  • The entire area from Mota Varachha cemetery to Savji Korat Bridge
  • The entire area from Radhe Chowk to Ramchowk to Padar

The SMC has appealed to residents of these areas to cooperate and use water sparingly during the period of water supply cut.

In addition to the above, the following areas may also experience low water pressure on October 14:

  • Mota Varachha Main Road
  • New North Zone area
  • Jubilee Garden

Residents of these areas are advised to store water as a precaution.
