Gandhinagar : Gujarat government has invited the Mumbai film industry for film shooting in the state. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday invited film personalities to take advantage of Gujarat's cinematic tourism policy and come to Gujarat for film shooting.

Patel was addressing personalities from the film industry during a pre-event summit organized for a special discussion on the capabilities and prospects of Gujarat in the film industry in Mumbai.

He said that with the aim of promoting film production in Gujarat, the Gujarat government has launched the state's first cinematic tourism policy in 2022.

The Chief Minister also announced that the 69th Filmfare Awards ceremony will be held in Gujarat. He said that this will prove to be a historic occasion for the cinematic and tourism community of the state.

Patel said that such events will promote tourism and culture in the state and open up new employment opportunities in event management and transport sectors.

He described the MoU signed between the state tourism department and World Wide Media for the future organization of the 69th Filmfare Awards ceremony in Gujarat as the biggest achievement for Gujarat.

The Chief Minister said that campaigns like ‘Khushboo Gujarat Ki’, ‘Kutch nahi dekha to kuch nahi dekha’ and ‘Kuch din to gujariye Gujarat mein’, which were started during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are still on the lips of the countrymen. This is the reason why Gujarat has become the ‘most favorite destination’ for tourism as well as film shooting and film production.

Referring to the many world class tourist places available in Gujarat, he said that there are excellent facilities for shooting films here. He listed Blue Flag status Shivrajpur Beach, Hill Station Saputara, Gir Forest, White Rann of Kutch and Statue of Unity and the surrounding tourist attractions as some of the potential filming locations in the state.

Patel further said that when the film industry arrives in a state, the entire ecosystem related to it also develops. During the making of a film, other sectors also benefit directly and indirectly and employment opportunities are also created.

On this occasion, the leaders associated with film production showed interest in knowing about the tourist places of Gujarat and attractive places worth shooting.

Gujarat Tourism Department Secretary Harit Shukla explained in detail about the promotional policy of the state government related to tourism and film production.

Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera, Industries Minister Balwant Singh Rajput, Minister of State for Industries (MSME) Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma, Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister K. Kailashnathan, senior secretaries of the state government and producers, artists and leaders associated with the film industry were also present.

The Gujarat government's invitation to the Mumbai film industry is a welcome move. Gujarat's rich culture and heritage, as well as its diverse landscape, make it an ideal destination for film shooting. The state government's cinematic tourism policy is also a step in the right direction to promote film production in Gujarat.

The hosting of the 69th Filmfare Awards ceremony in Gujarat is a major coup for the state. It will put Gujarat on the global map of the film industry and attract more filmmakers to the state.

Overall, the Gujarat government's initiatives to promote film production are a positive development. It will help to boost the state's economy and create jobs. It will also help to promote Gujarat's rich culture and heritage to a global audience.
