Surat : Surat police have arrested a drug smuggler husband and wife in disguise. The couple was caught with Mephedrone drugs worth Rs 2 lakh.
The accused, Sameer alias Lalo Munaf Malik and his wife, were arrested from near Ramnagar Char Rasta in Rander area of Surat city. The police team led by PI Atul Sonara was disguised as civilians when they caught the couple.
The police had received secret information about the couple's involvement in drug smuggling. They had been arrested for drug crimes in the past.
The police are investigating where and from whom the couple got the drugs.
This arrest is part of the Surat Police's No Drugs in City campaign. The police are taking strict action against drug sellers and smugglers in the city.
