Ahmedabad : Police in Ahmedabad have arrested four people and seized 108 fake tickets for the India vs Pakistan World Cup cricket match, which is scheduled to be held on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The arrests were made after the Crime Branch raided a Xerox shop in Bodakdev area of the city. The police also found 25 pages of printed ticket from the shop. It is alleged that the accused were selling the fake tickets for Rs 20,000 each, while the actual price of a ticket is Rs 2,000.
The police have issued a warning to the public against buying fake tickets for the match. They have asked people to call cyber helpline 1930 or emergency helpline 100/112 regarding ticket fraud.
All the tickets for the India vs Pakistan match have been sold out, but the police are keeping a close eye on the black market to prevent ticket scalping.
