Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel meets L&T Chairman to discuss Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024
Gujarat to get L&T's IT and ITES Park worth Rs 7000 crore
Gandhinagar : Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday met Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Chairman S.N. Subramanian in Mumbai to discuss the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.
During the meeting, Subramanian said that L&T is an 80-year-old industrial group with unmatched capabilities in technology, engineering, construction, and production sectors. He also informed that L&T has invested Rs 1000 crore in Hazira for the production of green hydrogen based on alkaline electrolysis process.
Subramanian said that L&T gives first priority to investment in Gujarat for most of its projects. He also discussed L&T Finance Holdings' plans to expand its retail portfolio of properties.
Noting that L&T has been an active participant of the Vibrant Summit since 2005, the Chief Minister invited Subramanian to participate in the upcoming Vibrant Summit to be held in 2024.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister K. Kailashnathan, and senior secretaries were present.
In addition to the above, L&T has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to set up an IT and IT Enabled Services (IT and ITES) Park in Vadodara with an investment of Rs 7000 crore. This project is expected to create thousands of jobs and boost the IT sector in Gujarat.
