Gujarat : Three Killed, 150 Goats Burnt to Ashes in Truck Fire in Aravalli
Truck Came in Contact with Electric Wire, Fire Broke Out Near Bamanwad Village
Three people were killed and 150 goats were burnt to ashes in a truck fire in Bamanwad, Modasa in Aravalli district of Gujarat on October 9, 2023. The fire broke out when the truck came in contact with an electric wire.
According to the police, the truck was loaded with sheep and goats and was going to Bamanwad village near Shamlaji Highway in Modasa tehsil. The fire broke out due to a high voltage wire that was over the truck. Within minutes, the truck was engulfed in flames.
The villagers informed the fire brigade and police. Fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and brought the fire under control. However, by then, three people along with the sheep and goats loaded in the truck had died.
The police are identifying the dead. The team including Modasa Municipality fire department officer Hemraj Singh Vaghela is at the spot. Modasa and Tintoi police have also started investigation at the spot.
The accident has raised concerns about the safety of highways in Gujarat. The police have appealed to truck drivers to be careful while driving on highways and to avoid contact with electric wires.
