Gujarat Police gears up for India-Pakistan World Cup match, deploys 7,000 personnel

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Police has made elaborate security arrangements for the World Cup match between India and Pakistan on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In view of the threats received regarding the match, the police are taking extra vigilance.

Police Commissioner GS Malik said that 7 thousand police personnel will be deployed in security arrangements. SRPF, RAF, and NSG will also be on standby for the security of players, VVIPs, and spectators.

Tickets for the match have already been sold. While attention has been paid to the security of the stadium during the match, the administration has also arranged for police force in other sensitive areas of the city.

Intensive checking will also be done in the hotels around the stadium. Patrolling along with police deployment has been arranged in sensitive areas.

Apart from this, CRPF, SRPF, RAF, and NSG personnel will be deployed around the Narendra Modi Stadium. Police has been deployed around the stadium three days before the match. 7 thousand police force and 4 thousand Home Guard personnel will be deployed. Apart from this, the team of NDRF and SDRF will also be ready. NSG's bomb disposal team, anti-drone team will also be involved in the security arrangements. There will be 3 RAF teams, 13 SRP teams in sensitive areas. The Pakistan team will have an extra escort along with the pilot escort.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also held a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar on Monday to review the security arrangements made by the state police in connection with the ICC World Cup cricket match. In the meeting, the Chief Minister took information about the security arrangements of the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium as well as the security and traffic arrangements of the spectators coming to watch the match and gave necessary guidance.

The Chief Minister also gave necessary suggestions regarding the arrangements made for the convenience of the viewers.
