Bike Rider Beats Up City Bus Driver in Surat for Giving Way

A city bus driver was beaten up by a bike rider and other people in Surat's Dindoli area on Sunday for giving way. The driver, Devendra Marathe, was seriously injured and had to undergo treatment.

The incident happened when Marathe was driving a bus full of passengers from Madhuram Circle to the station. He stopped the bus at Navagam Dindoli stand to deboard a passenger. While the passenger was getting down, the bike rider started blowing the horn repeatedly. When the bike rider did not get the side immediately, he started fighting with Marathe.

The bike rider and other people present with him attacked Marathe and the conductor. After the attack, all three people including the bike rider fled from the spot.

Other city bus drivers came to the spot and protested by parking the bus on the road. The police reached the spot and took the matter under control. Marathe was sent to the hospital for treatment and discharged after first aid.

Dindoli police registered a case against three people and took legal action.

The incident has sparked outrage among city bus drivers, who are already facing a lot of challenges due to irregular operations. The drivers have demanded that the police take strict action against the attackers and ensure their safety.
