Gujarat Holds Curtain Raiser Event for Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in New Delhi

New Delhi : The Gujarat government held a curtain raiser event for the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in New Delhi on Friday, with over 1,500 leading investors and industrialists attending. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Finance and Energy Minister Kanubhai Desai, Union Minister of State Darshana Jardosh, Dr. Mahendra Munjpara, Gujarat Industries Minister Balwant Singh Rajput, Minister of State for Industries Harsh Sanghvi, and senior secretaries of the state government were present at the event.

In his speech, Chief Minister Patel said that the VGGS has become an important platform for business networking, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships for socio-economic development. He also highlighted the state's progress in recent years, saying that the industrialists and investors present at the event are witnesses to India's golden age and that Gujarat's development journey has strengthened India's development.

Patel said that Gujarat has started contributing towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a "Developed India @2047" through mega projects like GIFT City, Dholera SIR, Dream City, greenfield ports, and the Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed Rail Project. He also said that Gujarat has taken the lead in the renewable energy sector and taken several initiatives in line with the Prime Minister's resolve to achieve a net zero economy.

On the occasion, Chief Secretary of Gujarat Raj Kumar, Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade in the Government of India, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department in Gujarat S.J. Haider, CEO of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Dilip Omen, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki Hisashi Takeuchi, and Group CEO of the UK India Business Council Richard McCallum shared their experiences in the context of the VGGS.

In his welcome address, BK Goenka, President of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and Chairman of the Welspun Group, praised Gujarat's business efficiency and investment-friendly policy environment. He said that "Gujarat means business and business means Gujarat" is coming true.

The VGGS is a biennial event that brings together businesses, investors, and government officials from around the world to discuss investment opportunities in Gujarat. The 10th edition of the summit will be held in January 2024.
