Gujarat Health Minister Focuses on Improving Health Infrastructure
Review Meeting Discusses 21 Key Health Issues; Emphasizes Patient Care and Hospital Hygiene
GANDHINAGAR: A high-level review meeting, led by Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel, took place on Thursday to address a range of pressing health concerns. The meeting, attended by representatives from civil hospitals, the Superintendent of GMERS, and health officials from all 33 districts, centered on 21 critical health issues.
A primary focus of the discussion was ensuring optimal patient care across the state's 2,300 health institutions. Minister Patel emphasized the necessity of adopting a compassionate approach towards patients, ensuring they face no hindrances during their visits. Additionally, the pressing issue of animals entering hospital premises was tackled, with direct instructions given to remedy the situation.
As part of the Patient Care Improvement Mission, around 93 health facilities have already established help desks, informative banners, and awareness posters. This initiative will soon expand to more hospitals. To further streamline critical care, a decision was made to equip 1,776 ambulances with GPS connectivity, ensuring timely and efficient patient transportation.
Issues like medicine availability, equipment shortages, and installation reviews were discussed in-depth. "The tendering process for recruiting Class-3 and Class-4 employees has concluded. Soon, these roles will be outsourced to hospitals statewide," Patel confirmed. He also announced the successful appointment of super specialist doctors and medical professionals recruited through the GPSC, ensuring enhanced medical care even in the state's tribal regions.
