Gujarat Metro Extends Train Hours for World Cup Matches at Narendra Modi Stadium
Special Arrangements, including Paper Tickets, Introduced to Facilitate Cricket Enthusiasts
Gujarat Metro Rail has announced extended metro train service hours for the upcoming World Cup cricket matches set to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. To cater to the influx of cricket enthusiasts, the metro will operate from 6:20 am until 1:00 am on match days, a significant extension from the current 6:20 am to 10:00 pm schedule.
Starting from 10:00 pm onwards, all metro stations will only have exit gates operational. However, the Motera Stadium Metro Station and the Sabarmati Metro Station will keep their entry gates open until the last train departs at 1:00 am.
In a bid to streamline passenger flow and prevent overcrowding, a paper ticketing system has been introduced. These paper tickets, specifically for return journeys from the Motera Stadium Metro Station, will be available at a flat rate of Rs 50. Cricket fans can purchase these tickets at any metro station after 10:00 pm on match days. This initiative ensures a seamless and convenient commute for spectators, enhancing their overall match-day experience.
