ABVP Demands Permanent Recruitment for TAT and TAT-passed Candidates

Student Protests Erupt at Surat District Collector Office

SURAT- A major disturbance occurred at the Surat District Collector Office on Tuesday morning when members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held a demonstration demanding permanent teacher recruitments. The students raised slogans against the government's recruitment policies, leading to heightened tensions.

The crux of the protest centered on the issue of permanent recruitment for candidates who have successfully passed the TAT and TAT exams. Currently, the government is offering only 11-month contract positions, which has elicited strong criticism from the student body.

ABVP leader, Veerti Shah, highlighted the group's concerns: "The government's approach towards candidates who've cleared the TAT exams is unjust. The practice of offering only short-term contracts threatens the futures of these candidates. Our demand is straightforward: cancel the temporary recruitments and initiate permanent positions." Shah further warned that if the demands go unaddressed, the ABVP will escalate the protest into a statewide agitation.

Echoing similar sentiments, ABVP leader Jaideep Janjala stated that the group is prepared to initiate a "violent agitation" across the state if their demands remain unmet. Throughout the demonstration, ABVP members staged their protest by chanting anti-government slogans at the Surat District Collector office.
