Ahmedabad Man Accused of False Identity and Deception in Marriage Case

Ahmedabad - A troubling trend of marriages under deceptive identities is emerging in Ahmedabad. In a recent case, a local man allegedly enticed a woman into a relationship, claiming to be a doctor with a monthly salary of Rs 1 lakh. However, when pressed for credentials, the truth began to unravel, leading to allegations of fraud and rape.

The complainant, a college student from the Nikol area of Ahmedabad, claimed that an acquaintance introduced her to the man, asserting his credentials as an ophthalmologist. The informant further said that the man's father held a prestigious position in the transport department. This purported endorsement led the families to meet.

However, the woman's family initially declined the marriage proposal, citing the man's skin condition. Despite the reservations, the man reportedly persuaded the woman, and they wed in April. Issues arose during a post-wedding reception when the groom's educational details on a card revealed a B.Sc. degree, raising suspicions. Upon confrontation, the man admitted to working in an eyewear store and having misrepresented his profession.

Feeling betrayed, the woman registered a complaint of cheating and rape at the Nicol police station. The authorities have since launched a manhunt for the accused.
