Surat Municipal Corporation Welcomes Newly Appointed Officials

The BJP Parliamentary Board recently unveiled the names of new officials to take up key positions in the Surat Municipal Corporation. Five significant roles, including that of the Surat Mayor, head of the Municipal Corporation, and chairpersons for 12 distinct committees, were announced. Having already assumed their duties, these officials reflect a diverse representation, safeguarding the interests of the North Indian, Maharashtra, and Patel societies. A noteworthy inclusion is the appointment of women members from the North Indian community, underscoring the ruling party's commitment to inclusivity.

To celebrate these appointments, the North Indian community of Dindoli, Surat, hosted a grand felicitation ceremony. Among the attendees were Gujarat BJP state president C.R. Patil, state home minister Harsh Sanghvi, the newly minted municipal councilors, and other city BJP representatives.

During the event, BJP President C.R. Patil attributed the party's success in the assembly elections to the strategic policies of Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized the significant role played by the North Indian community in securing BJP's victory in 156 Gujarat Assembly seats. Furthermore, Patil commended the party's approach of introducing fresh faces, pointing out that 1,500 newcomers have found a place in Gujarat's political landscape.

Echoing the Prime Minister's sentiment of empowering the youth and women, Patil highlighted BJP's endeavor to offer everyone an opportunity to serve. This vision was further emphasized by the passing of the 33 percent women's bill in the Lok Sabha and the Assembly. Patil expressed his regret over the party not achieving the targeted 182 seats in the Gujarat Assembly elections and made a symbolic gesture by refraining from wearing a flower garland necklace. He concluded by encouraging the community to guide the newly elected wing and rectify any minor discrepancies that may arise in their tenure.
