Rajkot : Maharaja Mahipalwala of Jetpur Royal Family Passes Away at 74

Rajkot, 01 October - The city of Jetpur in Rajkot is immersed in sorrow following the death of Maharaja Mahipalwala, the last recognized monarch of the Jetpur royal family. He breathed his last on Sunday at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy deeply intertwined with the history of Jetpur.

Descended from Chapraj Wala of Jetpur State, Maharaja Mahipalwala's demise has resonated with grief across the Jetpur region. He was distinguished by the Government of India as the concluding Maharaja of Jetpur (Pithadia).

Mahipalwala's health had been deteriorating and, on Sunday morning, the inevitable happened. As a tribute to his stature and to provide an opportunity for a final homage, his mortal remains will be stationed at Darbargarh for the public's last respects. The funeral procession will commence from Dhareshwar Darbargarh.

A man of notable academic background, Maharaja Mahipalwala pursued his education at premier institutions, including Doon School in Dehradun, Rajkumar College in Rajkot, and St. Xavier's College in Bombay. He also notably presided over the globally renowned Rajkumar College for a tenure of eight years.
