Ahmedabad : FIR Filed Against Khalistani Terrorist Pannu for Threats Against World Cup Venue
Cyber Police Investigate Threat to Raise Khalistani Flag at Narendra Modi Stadium During Cricket World Cup
AHMEDABAD, 29 September - Local law enforcement agencies have intensified security measures as they investigate a threatening message from Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, a known member of the Khalistani terrorist organization, Sikh for Justice. An FIR has been lodged by the Cyber Crime Branch in Ahmedabad in response to a viral audio clip, where Pannu issues a threat targeted at the World Cup Cricket event scheduled for October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The Cricket World Cup is set to commence on October 4 with the opening ceremony at the aforementioned stadium. Following this, the first match between England and New Zealand is due on October 5. The audio clip, which has gained significant traction on social media platforms, explicitly conveys Pannu's intent to display the Khalistani flag at the stadium during the World Cup event.
The message in the audio clip, delivered with a tone of defiance, declares, "Not the Cricket World Cup, but the Terrorism World Cup will begin from October 5. Only the Khalistani flag will be visible in the stadium on the day of the match." The threat also hints at retaliation for the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.
While the reasons behind this audacious threat are being dissected, the primary focus remains on ensuring the safety of attendees and the smooth conduct of the event. With the FIR in place, the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch is currently spearheading the investigation, ensuring all measures are taken to neutralize any potential threat.
