Vadodara Crime Branch Seizes 84 Rental Cars in Gujarat and Maharashtra

The Vadodara Crime Branch has seized 84 cars from Gujarat and Maharashtra that were sold or pawned after being obtained on hire. The cars have a total value of 5.53 crore rupees. The seizure came after the arrest of two individuals involved in the crime of selling cars obtained on hire.

Manish Ashok Harsora of Vadodara and Deepak Raiyani of Surat were recently arrested by the Vadodara Police. Manish used to take cars from car owners by offering attractive prices and then sent the cars to Deepak Pravin Rayani in Surat. Both accused would then sell or pawn the cars in different places like Surat, Mehsana, and Nandurbar-Dhulia in Maharashtra, and take a huge amount in return. The scheme had been ongoing for some time before the accused were caught by the police.

During their interrogation, the police learned about the 84 cars that had been rented and sold or pledged. The police sent teams to different places and confiscated these cars. As the accused are still on remand till March 6, the police are continuing their interrogation.

The Vadodara Crime Branch has cautioned the public to be wary of such scams and urged car owners to be vigilant while renting out their cars. The police have asked car owners to verify the authenticity of rental companies and thoroughly check the documents of renters before renting out their cars to avoid being duped.
