Vadodara Labor Contractor Murdered Over Wage Dispute: Police Arrest Husband and Wife Duo as Suspects

VADODARA, Akota — A labor contractor was found dead in his residence in Rajkamal Society of Akota, Vadodara, over what appears to be a dispute related to unpaid wages. Authorities have arrested a husband and wife, identified as Natu Rathwa and Jigi Rathwa, both residents of Vaddala, Taluka, Bodeli, Chhotaudepur, in connection to the crime.

The victim’s wife, Veena Parasottam Rathwa, who also resides in the family's servant quarters, reported the incident. She told police that she discovered her husband's lifeless body upon returning from a morning routine of cooking for her in-laws. He had suffered severe head injuries and was bleeding profusely. Veena immediately contacted her father-in-law and other relatives, who confirmed the death. The body was subsequently cremated at Lodhan village in Jetpur Pavi taluka, the victim’s hometown.

Upon further investigation, Veena revealed she had discovered threatening messages on her sister-in-law's mobile phone from Natu Rathwa. Veena's 8-year-old daughter, who was present during the incident, further implicated the Rathwa couple. She reported that they had attacked her father with household items such as plates and tongs.

Gotri police have officially registered the case as a murder and have detained both Natu and Jigi Rathwa for questioning. Photographic evidence of the victim’s body has also been collected as part of the ongoing investigation.

This tragic event sheds light on the dangers that can erupt over labor and wage disputes, and it raises questions about the safety of labor contractors in the region. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the full scope of the incident.
