The Surat and Valsad district police were hailed for their remarkable detective work at the "Tera Tujko Arpan" program organized today at Saurashtra Patel Samaj Ni Wadi, Varachha, Surat. The event witnessed the return of goods stolen in a recent Rs 4 crore diamond heist to the rightful owners, with the Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi and State Education Minister Prafulla Pansuriya in attendance alongside notable diamond traders and high-ranking city police officers.
In a striking resolution to the theft case that occurred just a few days ago in the Sarthana area, the police not only apprehended the culprits but managed to recover all the stolen items within a remarkable span of three hours. The formidable team effort involved the cybercrime team, who were also acknowledged for their contributions, with an overall recovery totalling Rs 4.30 crore from various criminal activities including diamond robbery and cybercrime.
Particular praise was reserved for a female PSI officer who played a pivotal role in solving the case, her actions eliciting a gesture of pride from the Home Minister. Sanghvi urged the audience to uphold social responsibilities and foster stronger community ties on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, which coincided with the event.
"The excellent work done by the women police team is a matter of pride for the history of Gujarat. Within just 3 hours, the female PSI caught the absconding accused who had looted diamonds worth crores. I am proud of this," expressed Home Minister Sanghvi as he lavished praise on the swift and successful operation.
Besides honoring the proficient work of Surat Crime Branch and Valsad District LCB, Dindoli and Udhna police were also recognized for their diligent service in resolving other criminal cases, demonstrating a strong police force actively working to ensure safety and justice in the community.
