A temple located in Khodiyar Nagar, Althan Road, Surat, was targeted by smugglers who stole an estimated amount of 30 to 35 thousand from the Khodiyar Mata Temple. The theft was captured on CCTV camera installed inside the temple, revealing that two people had broken into the temple by breaking the lock of the door and stealing from the donation box.
The incident was reported by the priest of the temple, Ashok Kumar Sevak, who lodged a complaint with the Khatodara police station. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to catch the culprits responsible for the theft. The police have been using CCTV footage to aid their investigations and arrest the perpetrators.
Such incidents of theft have caused concern among the devotees, who visit the temples regularly to offer prayers and make donations. The authorities have appealed to the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
