Surat-Chhapra Clone Train Among Multiple Services Canceled Due to Varanasi Yard Mega Block

Northern Railway's Maintenance Work Leads to Train Cancellations, Affecting Thousands of Passengers

Surat-Chhapra Clone Train Among Multiple Services Canceled Due to Varanasi Yard Mega Block

Northern Railway's Varanasi yard has been subjected to a mega block due to a non-interlocking operation after remodeling. As a ripple effect, Western Railway trains will also face disruptions. The Ektanagar-Varanasi Mahamana Express will be canceled from September 12 to October 10. Additionally, the Surat-Chhapra clone train has been taken off the schedule from September 11 to October 9.

Ticket Cancellations Lead to Passenger Woes

With the cancellation of the Mahamana Express and the Clone Special trains, approximately 24,000 passengers are expected to be affected. The inconvenience will be somewhat mitigated, as refunds will be issued for canceled tickets. However, the abrupt change in schedules is likely to cause significant disruption for travelers.

To compensate for the canceled services, Northern Railway has announced that 25 trips of the Surat-Chhapra Taptiganga Express will be rerouted to originate from Prayagraj Junction instead of Chhinki.

Specific Train Cancellation Dates

The 20903-Ektanagar Varanasi train will remain canceled on September 12, 19, 26 and October 3, 10. The return journey from Varanasi is also scheduled to be canceled on September 11, 18, 25, and October 2, 9. Similarly, the Chhapra Clone Special train will be off the tracks on September 13, 20, 27, and October 4, 11.

As the Northern Railway undertakes these maintenance operations, passengers are advised to check for updates and plan their travels accordingly.
