Surat Launches "Cyber Sanjeevani-2.0" to Raise Cybercrime Awareness Among Youth
The joint initiative by Surat Swanibhar School Board and Surat City Police educates 7,000 students and teachers on cybercrime prevention, vows to support victims of online blackmail.
Surat — The "Surat Cyber Sanjeevani-2.0" awareness program, an initiative aimed at educating the youth about the perils of cybercrime, was organized on Ghoddod Road's Indoor Stadium. The event was a joint effort between the Surat Swanibhar School Board and Surat City Police and was presided over by Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi and Union Minister of State for Railways Darshan Jardosh.
The gathering of around 7,000 students and teachers from various schools in the city witnessed a theatrical performance aimed at creating public awareness on preventing cybercrimes.
Strong Stand Against Online Blackmail
Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi used the occasion to make a potent statement against online blackmail, particularly targeting young women with manipulated photos. "The police will assemble a fully aware team to help our daughters and sisters by apprehending such criminals," declared Sanghvi. He urged the public to assist the victims by immediately taking them to the police station for action.
Theatrical Education on Cybercrimes
The highlight of the program was a dramatic stage show, detailing the intricacies of cybercrimes. Artists enacted various scenarios to inform the audience about the 'do's and don'ts' when it comes to cybercrimes. The dramatization was aimed at offering practical and engaging education to the young crowd about this increasing social menace.
Collaborative Future Ahead
State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi also stated that there will be collaborative efforts between the police and educational departments in the days to come. "Both sectors will unite to educate and protect our youth from the potential risks they face online," said Sanghvi.
The program represents a crucial step toward fostering a better understanding of cyber risks among the youth and educators. The initiative also reinforces the government's commitment to fight against the ever-growing threat of cybercrimes in today's digitally interconnected world.
