Gujarat : Minister Harsh Sanghvi Urges Police Unity for Enhanced Public Safety
Calls for Comprehensive Action Plan in CID Crime Evaluation Meeting
Gandhinagar, August 25 - In a move aimed at fostering unity within the police force to better serve the public, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi has called for a separate action plan. This statement came during an evaluation meeting focused on the operations of the CID Crime branch held in Gandhinagar on Friday.
The Minister stressed the importance of a united and efficient police force in maintaining law and order under any circumstance. He emphasized that a cohesive strategy and unique design within the police system could lead to improved public services.
Sanghvi also expanded on the roles and responsibilities of the CID Crime branch, urging it not to function merely as a nodal agency but to take a more proactive role in various duties. He mentioned that the 'Xi team,' who responds to the Abhay call, should also be integrated into the CID operations.
In addition to this, the Minister gave directives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of tackling the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act violations and cybercrimes. He insisted on a comprehensive approach for these crucial issues that have significant societal impact.
During the meeting, the Minister lauded CID Crime for its efforts in locating missing children within the state and apprehending fugitive offenders. He provided guidance on crafting a well-planned strategy for these specific challenges.
Several high-ranking police officers attended the evaluation meeting, where the department's accomplishments and future plans were showcased through a detailed presentation.
