Surat : Major Pothole Disrupts BRTS Route in Surat's Kapodra Area; Municipal Teams Rush to Repair the Damage

Surat: In an unforeseen incident, the BRTS route of Kapodra in Surat has been disrupted due to a significant pothole caused by damage to the drainage line. The issue is emblematic of the broader problem faced by many areas of Surat city during monsoon, where rain-induced potholes form on the roads.

The large pothole on the BRTS route in Kapodra necessitated immediate action, leading the municipal administration to halt operations on this route and commence repair work.

Upon the discovery of the the pothoal near Kapodra Sneh Mudra Aardash Nagar Society on the BRTS route, the fire brigade team was immediately dispatched to the location. The fire department then informed the zone department, and a municipal team was rushed to the spot as well.

The BRTS route was subsequently closed due to the landslide, and buses began operating from alternative routes. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in this incident.

The current weather in Surat includes persistent rain, leading to other such incidents on the road. Previous such occurrences in the area have raised concern, and the latest incedent in the Kapodra area has put the Municipal Corporation team into action to carry out necessary operations.

An official of the Varachha zone commented on the situation, stating, “When we came to know about the incident, our team immediately reached the spot and also informed the drainage department. It is observed that the pothoal occurred due to a problem in the drainage line. The work will be completed by evening.”

The ongoing repair work signifies a proactive approach by the local administration to address a recurring issue during the monsoon season, prioritizing the safety and convenience of the citizens.
