Ahmedabad : Knife Attack Over Dish Installation in Amraiwadi Leaves Family Injured

A seemingly innocuous dispute over the installation of a satellite dish escalated into a violent knife and pipe attack in Ahmedabad's Amraiwadi area, leaving a family of three injured.

According to local police reports, the incident began when Lakshmiben Vania and her two sons were attempting to fix a dish connection on the wall shared with their neighbor, Kantaben Jitiya. When Kantaben questioned why they were installing the dish without sharing the wall or consulting her, a heated argument ensued.

Altercation Turns Violent

Despite initial attempts by locals to pacify the situation, tensions flared later in the evening. Lakshmiben's son allegedly verbally abused Kantaben's son, leading to further confrontations. In the heat of the moment, Lakshmiben's son reportedly slapped Kantaben and stabbed her in the head with a knife.

The altercation did not end there. Kantaben's husband and son, arriving at the scene, were attacked by Lakshmiben's other son wielding a pipe. All three injured family members were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police Action

Amraiwadi police have registered a case against Lakshmiben Vania and her sons, Jayesh and Ranjeet, initiating an investigation into the incident. The case highlights the heightened emotions that property disputes can provoke, and the serious consequences that can result from a lack of communication and compromise.

The neighborhood remains in shock, and the local community is calling for swift justice and greater conflict mediation support to prevent such incidents from escalating in the future.
