AIIMS job scam busted in Rajkot, Gujarat; accused doctor arrested
A woman attempting to obtain a job at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot, Gujarat was caught using a bogus job offer letter. The complainant, an officer in the administration department of AIIMS, received the letter from the woman, Nikita Mukundbhawai Panchal, who had come to the hospital to appear for the job as a lab technician. However, after checking the document, which was written with the AIIMS logo, it was found to be fraudulent. The police were informed, and an investigation was launched.
The police arrested the accused, Dr. Akshay Jadav, who allegedly prepared the bogus job offer letter and checked Panchal's documents, interviewed her through videography, and sent her the offer letter. The police have registered a case of cheating against Jadav, who is believed to be part of a larger job scam racket. There were no official notifications or orders for the recruitment of lab technicians in AIIMS, Rajkot.
The incident has raised concerns about the prevalence of job scams in the country, with many young men and women falling victim to fraudulent job offers. The police have launched further investigations into the matter.
