Ahmedabad, August 11: A harrowing accident occurred on the Bavla-Bagodra highway, approximately 50 km from Ahmedabad today, resulting in the death of 10 individuals, including 5 women, 3 children, and 2 men. Another 10 were injured in the crash, which saw a goods tempo collide violently with a stationary truck.

The victims, all pilgrims from Kapadvanj and Balasinor, were returning after visiting the revered Mata Chamunda temple at Chotila in Surendranagar. Their journey took a tragic turn near Mithapur Patiya between Bavla-Bagodra when their vehicle slammed into a parked truck with a punctured tire. The force of the collision was so great that the tempo was completely destroyed, leading to the immediate death of 10 passengers.

Emergency services, including multiple ambulances, police, and local administrative officers, quickly arrived at the scene following news of the disaster. Injured survivors were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have taken custody of the deceased and have initiated post-mortem procedures.

The aftermath of the tragedy led to significant traffic congestion in the area as distraught onlookers and concerned citizens gathered at the accident site.
