A devastating incident has left a family from Patan, Gujarat in mourning. Darsheel Thakkar, who had traveled to the United States on a tourist visa, was tragically killed in a hit and run in Houston, Texas. The accident occurred while Darsheel was conversing with his father via a video call.
Darsheel, a resident of Shivkripa Society, Patan, had embarked on his American journey on April 9, 2023, with plans to return to India on September 26. On the evening of July 31, Darsheel was out in Houston. During his video call with his parents, he began crossing the road, believing it was safe due to a stop signal. Tragically, the signal changed suddenly, and an oncoming car, traveling at a high speed, struck Darsheel. The impact was so severe that he succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The driver of the car did not stop and fled the scene.
Darsheel's grief-stricken family in Patan is now making arrangements with government authorities to repatriate his body. The tragic news has cast a dark shadow over the family, with relatives urging for his body to be returned home as swiftly as possible.
