Gujarat Seals Investment Deals Worth Rs 1401 Crore

GANDHINAGAR/AHMEDABAD - In the run-up to the Vibrant Summit-2024, the Gujarat state government has inked four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), attracting a total investment of Rs 1401 crore. These MoUs, signed in Gandhinagar in the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, are primarily focused on the chemical sector and will see industrial operations sprouting in Bharuch district's Saikha and Dahej Industrial Areas (GIDC).

Officials from the state government, led by SJ Haider, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department, collaborated with Senior CEOs and Managing Directors of the respective industrial clusters to formalize the agreements. This was carried out under the watchful eyes of Industries Minister Balwant Singh Rajput and Minister of State Harsh Sanghvi.

Collectively, these recent collaborations bring the total MoUs signed to 10, boasting an overall investment of Rs 2761 crore. These proposed industries will potentially generate over 5,000 jobs across various sectors, including textiles, engineering, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.

Several business leaders echoed the sentiment that Gujarat's state-of-the-art infrastructure is perfectly aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' vision. The proactive administration, steered by Chief Minister Patel, was also lauded for creating a conducive environment for industrial growth.

Breaking down the latest MoUs:

  • Gujarat Fluoro Chemicals will invest Rs 50 crore in Dahej-2 for a unit producing lithium hexafluorophosphate, a vital component for electric vehicle batteries.
  • Savita Green Tech Ltd. will channel Rs 493 crore towards a plastic bottle recycling initiative at Saikha GIDC.
  • Harcross Chemicals Pvt Ltd earmarks Rs 300 crore for a Specialty Chemicals Plant in Dahej-1.
  • Ashu Organic India Pvt. Ltd. dedicates Rs 108 crores to a Dyes and Pigment Intermediates production facility in Dahej-3.

The occasion saw attendance from high-ranking officials including Chief Secretary Rajkumar, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister K. Kailashnathan, and others. The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit's 10th iteration is scheduled for January 2024.
