Surat Roads Undergoing Rapid Repairs Following Municipal Directive
Residents call for night-time repairs in busy traffic areas to alleviate disruption
SURAT - After directives from the Surat Municipal Commissioner, the city's municipal corporation has accelerated road repair efforts across all zones. Immediate action was taken as soon as the rains abated, with current operations active in areas like Katargam Kasnagar and Pal Gauravpath.
The urban sprawl of Surat has seen traffic congestion on many of its key roads, including the heavily trafficked Ring Road. Potholes have become a common sight, much to the annoyance of daily commuters. Roads in bustling areas such as Gujarat Gas Circle, Katargam Darwaza, Sahara Darwaza, Udhna Darwaza, and Morabhagal have deteriorated, leading to significant vehicular congestion and worsening the commute for Surat's residents.
Recent heavy rains only exacerbated the problem, intensifying the plight of drivers navigating through treacherous pothole-ridden routes.
In response to the mounting concerns, the municipal commissioner decreed a swift repair initiative for the battered roads across all zones. Notwithstanding today's rain in Poro, repair activities have commenced in all designated areas.
However, the local community has voiced a specific demand for speedy repairs on the heavily trafficked Majuragate-Kadiwala School-Udhna Darwaja road. They suggest that roadwork during nighttime hours could be a strategic solution to reduce disruptions during peak traffic times.
