PM Modi Inaugurates Rajkot's Greenfield International Airport and Other Key Projects
Hirasar Greenfield International Airport, a ₹1400 crore project, is set to bolster regional connectivity and development
RAJKOT — Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on a two-day visit to Gujarat, inaugurated the sprawling Hirasar Greenfield International Airport in Rajkot on Thursday. The new airport, spread over 2500 acres and constructed at a cost of ₹1400 crore, is expected to boost connectivity and drive economic growth in the region.
Following the airport's inauguration, PM Modi went on to unveil the KKV Overbridge and the Sauni Yojana Link-3 project, further emphasizing the central government's commitment to infrastructural advancement in the state.
While addressing the public at the Race Course ground, the Prime Minister did not shy away from addressing political adversaries. Later, he proceeded to Ahmedabad and is expected to review various developmental projects during his stay at Raj Bhavan.
The new airport's certification was formally handed over to Digantat Borah, Director of Rajkot Airport, by Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman of the Airport Authority of India, marking the official commencement of its operations. With 250 acres designated as a green zone and an extensive 524 acres developed for passenger convenience, the airport also boasts an Aviation Park spanning 250 acres.
