In a major crackdown, the Pandesara police in Surat apprehended six individuals following the discovery of a significant quantity of illicit liquor in a residential property and a Chhotahathi tempo vehicle. The operation was based on actionable intelligence regarding illegal activities in the area.
The police operation zeroed in on the parking area of the KSB Olympia Complex, located near Pandesara Kailash Chowk. Additionally, another location near Brahmin Falia in Bhestan was raided, leading to the seizure of alcohol valued at Rs 8.6 lakh. Apart from the liquor, other confiscated items included a Chhotahathi tempo valued at Rs 2.50 lakh, a moped, four mobile phones, bringing the total estimated worth of the seizure to Rs 11.34 lakh.
Among the arrested individuals are Roki Lalchand Dhansingbhai Saluke, Mayur Lalchand Dhansingbhai Saluke, Prashant Shrikumar Horilal Mistry, Vipul Dadabhai Girase, Pyarichand alias Lokesh Shankarlal Baluram Prajapati, and Rinkesh Jagdishbhai Maganbhai Patel. Sunny Hasmukhbhai Patel, believed to be the person who ordered the liquor, remains at large and has been declared wanted by the police.
The authorities have commenced legal proceedings against the apprehended individuals and are continuing investigations to further dismantle the illicit trade network.
