Harsh Sanghvi Issues Stern Warning Against Road Stunts in Surat

In a recent event in Surat, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi has sent out a clear message to those using public roads for dangerous stunts. Speaking at a blood donation camp organized by the Surat Police for Thalassemia patients in Adajan, Sanghvi cautioned that roads should not be treated as racing tracks and promised stringent measures against violators.
Blood Donation Drive to Aid Thalassemia Patients
In a bid to ensure ample blood supply for Thalassemia patients, Surat Police have been hosting blood camps across the city. The latest such initiative saw the participation of Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi, along with senior police officials and local leaders. They were united in their cause to donate blood and assist those in need.
Accountability Begins at Home
Taking the platform to discuss the concerning rise in vehicular stunts on public roads, Sanghvi underlined the equal culpability of the families of those involved. He expressed his concern about families that indulge their children by providing them with vehicles, especially when they lack a valid license. The minister was quick to note the grief and loss experienced by other families due to reckless actions of such youngsters. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, he pointed to a recent case where both a father and son were apprehended following a dangerous stunt in Rander.
No Tolerance Policy Against Road Misuse
The Minister asserted that families should limit their children's entertainment within the boundaries of their homes, emphasizing the state's zero-tolerance approach towards turning any public road into a racing track. He warned parents against enabling underage driving, stating unequivocally that if a child without a license was found breaking traffic rules, the family would face punitive actions without exceptions.
Past Offenses Under the Scanner
Sanghvi also mentioned a previous incident involving Ahmedabad's Fact Patel. He revealed that an old video has surfaced, showcasing Patel's involvement in another accident. Immediate legal action was initiated against Patel, with Sanghvi underscoring the government's commitment to ensuring road safety and holding violators accountable without leniency.
