In a significant boost to the industrial development of Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream project, the 'Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel Park (PM Mitra)' is set to be established in seven states of India. For Gujarat, the venue is slated to be a 1,141-acre site at Vansiborsi, Navsari, marking a new era in the textile industry.
An agreement was officially signed between the state and the central government in the convention hall of Veer Narmad University. This momentous event was presided over by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Industries Minister Piyush Goyal.
The proposed PM Mitra Park at Vansi Borsi will feature an integrated textile value chain that includes spinning, weaving, processing/dyeing, printing, and apparel manufacturing all under one roof. Additionally, it will provide world-class 'plug and play' infrastructure, fostering training, research, and innovation.
Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel lauded the project, stating that it aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolve to establish India as a global textile hub. He expressed confidence that the park will not only modernize the textile industry but also create new employment opportunities across the state, notably in South Gujarat.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal commended the park, touting it as a unique industrial model that will attract investment, promote innovation, and create employment. He affirmed that all benefits outlined in the Industrial Promotion Policy will be extended to businesses in the park.
Harsh Sanghvi, Minister of State for Home, emphasized that the park would not only benefit existing businesses but also secure a prosperous future for upcoming generations.
