Surat, July 6th - A shocking daylight kidnapping of a businessman from Ahmedabad, who operates a stock market office, has left the city in a state of alarm. The incident, which was captured in chilling detail on CCTV footage, took place yesterday.
The video footage reveals a harrowing scene where three men are seen forcing the businessman into a car. One individual is seen pressing the victim's face while the other two shove him into the vehicle. Despite the victim's struggle and attempts to escape, the kidnappers manage to overpower him and drive away with him.
The incident drew a crowd at the scene, as captured in the CCTV footage. It shows the businessman and his assailants standing near a car parked by the road, subsequently leading to a skirmish, and eventually resulting in the forcible abduction.
The victim, Shakti Dhaduk, a stock market trader who had traveled from Ahmedabad to Surat, had been staying in a Surat hotel for the past 15 days. Upon the shocking discovery of his abduction, the police were quick to seize the CCTV footage from the location, which is now playing a crucial role in their ongoing investigation.
Preliminary investigations hint towards a possible financial motive behind the crime. Dhaduk, who maintains his stock market office in Ahmedabad, had reportedly been hounded by debtors demanding money upon his arrival in Surat. According to sources close to the case, a transaction worth Rs 2.5 crore might be at the heart of this disturbing incident.
In a major breakthrough, police have detained three individuals, believed to be from the Greater Varachha area of Surat, where Dhaduk was also abducted from. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding the abduction.
