Surat Police Conduct Large-Scale Night Combing Operation; 61 Detained
51 Vehicles and Several Weapons Seized During Sweep of Pandesara Area
Surat, July 6th - A large-scale night combing operation carried out by Surat police in the Pandesara area resulted in 61 detentions, with 51 vehicles and numerous weapons being confiscated. The operation was part of an ongoing effort to maintain law and order in Surat city.
The police operation involved a systematic investigation across the Vighnavansi residence at Pandesara Budia Road, conducted by seven dedicated teams comprised of Police Inspectors (PI), Police Sub-Inspectors (PSI), and a total of 46 policemen. As many as 216 houses spread across 12 buildings were meticulously inspected during the combing operation.
The operation was conducted with stringent measures, which included the blockade of entry and exit points at the targeted residence. The people found during the operation were subjected to thorough questioning, and all residential rooms were systematically searched.
Among those checked during the night combing were 85 tenants. Police investigation led to 20 cases related to intoxication and another 63 suspected cases were also thoroughly examined. Ultimately, 61 people were arrested as a result of the combing operation.
In addition to the arrests, the police confiscated 51 vehicles and several weapons including swords and paddles. Legal action is now being undertaken against those detained during the operation. The operation underscores the Surat police's ongoing commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining peace within the city.
