A woman died and two others were injured in an accident involving an XUV and a rickshaw in Surat's Chautapul area. Premilaben, a 36-year-old woman, had gone shopping with her sister and was waiting for a rickshaw when the XUV 700 hit a parked rickshaw, causing her to become trapped between two rickshaws. She suffered serious injuries and later died, leaving her two sons without a mother. Her sister and the rickshaw puller were also injured in the accident. The driver of the XUV fled the scene after the incident.
The family of the deceased woman left for their native Raigarh after her postmortem. The Lalgate police have registered a case against the driver of the SUV based on Kailashbhai's complaint. The accident damaged both the rickshaws involved in the accident, and the driver of the XUV has yet to be apprehended.
