Tragic Incident in Surat: Mother Confesses to Murdering Her Toddler, Post Reporting Him Missing
Two-and-a-Half-Year-Old Found Dead in Lift Passage, Following Mother's Admission of Guilt After Police Interrogation
In a chilling crime that unfolded in Surat, a laborer mother who reported her two-and-a-half-year-old son missing later confessed to having murdered him. The woman had initially thrown the child's body in the lift passage of a building where they resided on Dindoli Karadwa Road.
The mother, 22-year-old Naina Sukhnandan Mandavi, originally from Chhattisgarh, was living with her mother, Sumanben, and her young son Veer, also known as Bhondu, in a newly constructed building at Lake City Residency. They had been living at this construction site, where Naina worked, for two years.
On June 28th, Naina reported to Dindoli police station that Veer had gone missing the previous afternoon while playing. The police promptly registered a kidnapping case and initiated an investigation. However, suspicion soon fell on Naina, who had been estranged from her husband for five years.
Intense police interrogation led to a chilling confession from Naina. She admitted to killing her young son by strangulation. However, even after confessing to the murder, Naina misled the police about the location of her son's body.
Finally, on Friday, police discovered the lifeless body of Veer in the lift passage of the building. The body was immediately seized, and investigations continue as the police now try to understand Naina's motive behind the gruesome murder of her own child.
