Gujarat : Wall Collapse in Panchmahal Claims Four Young Lives, Leaves Four Injured
Incident Occurred in the Aftermath of Heavy Rains, With Survivors Rushed to Vadodara for Treatment
AHMEDABAD, June 29 - In a tragic incident on Thursday afternoon, a wall of the Sanmukha Agro Company collapsed in Chandrapura village, Halol Tehsil, Panchmahal district, leading to the death of four children and leaving four others injured.
The wall collapsed after heavy rains lashed Halol, trapping two families living in huts near the company's premises under the debris. The victims were labourers and their families who had made temporary dwellings in the open plot adjacent to the company wall.
Among the deceased were four children, all under the age of five. This included two daughters from one family and a son and another child from the second family. The children were identified as Chiriram Damor (5), son of labourer Jitendra Damor, and Abhishek Bhuria (4), Gungun Bhuria (2), and Muskan Bhuria (5), children of labourer Ambaram Bhuria.
The injured survivors, named Parvati (26), Aaliya Damor (5), Meet Damor (2), and Hiraben Damor (25), were first rushed to a nearby hospital. They were later referred to a medical facility in Vadodara for further treatment. The injured comprise a boy, a girl, and two women.
The Halol Tehsildar, Mayur Parmar, arrived at the accident site following the incident, marking the beginning of official investigations into the tragic event.
