In a shocking case revealing the grim reality of human trafficking, Surat's Kapodra police have arrested a pimp and a spa manager accused of forcing a 16-year-old Bangladeshi girl into prostitution. The victim was reportedly lured under the pretense of love, then illegally smuggled across the border into Gujarat.
Investigating authorities sprung into action upon learning of the heinous crime involving the minor girl. She was allegedly trapped by a man in Kapodra who fraudulently promised her a relationship, later transporting her illegally to Gujarat for forced sex work.
Upon age verification, the victim was confirmed to be a minor. She was subsequently sent for medical examination at Smear Hospital to ascertain her age and the extent of the physical abuse she had suffered. The probe led to the arrest of Sonia, a woman suspected of operating as a pimp in the Adajan area of Surat. A special police team was dispatched to Ahmedabad for further questioning.
Adding to the arrest, the spa operator, identified as Arvind Amartbhai Parekh, was apprehended at the Ahmedabad station along with two pimps, Jamal and Fazul Mandal. These individuals are accused of sexually assaulting the girl and forcing her into prostitution. Jamal, who had been keeping the girl in a hotel in Gandhinagar, is also originally from Bangladesh and has lived in Ahmedabad for the past three and a half years.
According to the police, Jamal had supplied three girls for forced prostitution in the same month. He reportedly dropped off the victim at Maninagar railway station in Ahmedabad, instructing her to work as a sex worker. When she refused and expressed a wish to return home, Jamal attempted to forcibly coerce her into prostitution.
The young victim managed to escape Jamal's clutches, only to encounter another predator, Sonia from Surat, who also tried to force her into the sex trade. As investigations continue, these revelations underscore the grim issue of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
