Local Law Enforcement Investigating Perpetrator of Domestic Violence
In a dramatic intervention, the Fire Brigade and Police in Surat, Gujarat, worked together to rescue a mother and son who had been brutally assaulted and locked inside their home. The incident took place late in the evening at their residence in Kosad, Amroli.
The victims, a 32-year-old woman and her 13-year-old son, were found in a first-floor flat of an apartment building in Kosad Awas. They had been beaten and subsequently confined in their home, the main door locked from the outside by an unidentified individual. The victims managed to draw attention to their predicament by knocking on the door, which quickly attracted a gathering of concerned neighbours.
In response to the urgent calls from the neighbours, the Fire Brigade and Police swiftly arrived at the scene. Fire Officer Harendra Bhagwakar reported that his team broke the lock on the door using specialized equipment, and then rescued the trapped duo, handing them over safely to the police.
Relieved to be free after half an hour of intense confinement, both the woman and her son were understandably shaken but thankfully safe.
Currently, the local police force is making diligent efforts to investigate the identity of the assailant. Utilizing CCTV footage from around the apartment complex, they hope to identify any suspicious visitors to the building around the time of the incident. As of yet, no definitive information regarding the individual who assaulted and confined the mother and son has been released.
Meanwhile, the incident has sparked concerns for safety among other residents of the building, who are awaiting the results of the police investigation. This unsettling event has emphasized the necessity for community vigilance and the importance of swift emergency services response in preserving safety and security.
