Rising Concerns as Heart Conditions Now Impacting Youth Post-Pandemic
Navsari/Ahmedabad, 26 June: In an alarming development, an increasing number of heart attack cases are being reported in the state, affecting individuals across age groups. The trend, which has seen a notable rise post the Covid-19 pandemic, claimed its youngest victim yet – a 17-year-old class 12 student from Navsari's Partapore village.
Tanisha, a student at the AB School in Partapore village, collapsed during a school recess. Witnesses reported that her heartbeat abruptly stopped. School authorities rushed her to the nearest hospital, where doctors, unfortunately, pronounced her dead upon arrival.
The cause of death, as per the preliminary medical reports, has been attributed to a sudden cardiac arrest. The police have initiated an autopsy to confirm the cause of death and further investigate the tragic incident. This event adds to a growing list of cardiac-related fatalities among young people in the state, raising serious concerns over the after-effects of the pandemic on public health.
