Iran's Major Announcement on the Hormuz Strait, Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf States, Old Situation Will Not Return
Tehran, June 23. Iran's Parliament Speaker M.B. Ghalibaf has made it clear that the administration of the Hormuz Strait will never return to the pre-war situation.
After returning from technical talks with the United States in Switzerland, Ghalibaf emphasized that the management of this strategic maritime route will remain entirely under Iran's control while adhering to international regulations. He described the talks in Switzerland as a diplomatic victory for Iran, claiming that due to Iran's pressure, the U.S. was forced to change its social media posts related to Lebanon and regional proxy groups. He also stated that Iran's participation played a crucial role in avoiding widespread conflict in the region and preventing large-scale bloodshed in Lebanon.
Ghalibaf clarified that Tehran has never trusted the U.S. and will not do so in the future. He mentioned that during the discussions in Switzerland, an agreement was reached on releasing Iran's frozen funds and easing oil sanctions. He concluded by calling for the country to remain united under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Mujtaba Khamenei.
